Dogs & Roses

Dogs & Roses - The Jim Prescott Trio

Last year I went into the studio with my trio and recorded some of the jazz compositions I've been working on the last few years. Dogs & Roses is all about Portland and readjusting to life off the road there, exploring a new scene and going deeper into myself and my own sound.

I'm honored to work with some of the best young voices in the Portland jazz scene, Luke Bonham plays the drum kit with style and sensitivity and uses the spaces perfectly to tell the story. Brian Myers is a monster on the tenor saxophone and plays with intensity and passion while bringing a deep jazz knowledge to my songs. His chordal sense and dynamite technique allows the music to breath free of a piano or chordal instrument.

Thanks so much for listening. Your financial support, with a download or CD purchase will allow us to continue to make this music.

Here's what some people are saying about it:

“Jim has been the jazz roots of G Love and Special Sauce since the very beginning. With this release he is reaching a new peak of artistic and creative power. This is the reason we call him “Jimi Jazz”, you got to hear this record." ~ Garrett "G. Love" Dutton of Special Sauce

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" ~ Gail Williams of Nzinga's Daughters

"It sounds good, what I've heard . . . " ~ Jeff "The Houseman" Clemens of Special Sauce
